If you have your private collection of game-worn, game-issued or signed memorabilia and gear, or you even own just a single item, GotAuthentic gives you the opportunity to digitize your item(s), manage it and show it to the rest of the world. And if you decide you want to trade some of your pieces? Just go for it. GotAuthentic makes that possible through our Marketplace, supported by secure payments via PayPal.
We believe in individual freedoms and therefore anyone is invited to visit and browse the Marketplace without any registration. To place your items onto the Marketplace, simply register for a GotAuthentic user account. The registration is for free and gives you benefits, such as the privilege to see more details about each item in the Marketplace, the ability to contact the owner, an even better search option, and most importantly will allow you to sell or buy items. And if you decide you'd like to get indulged on a different level, we offer a PREMIUM membership with special perks like extra transaction credits, Watchdog tokens and much more.
Adding a new item to the Marketplace is a simple three-step journey. First, click on the New Item option in the top menu. Then fill out all the details about your item that can better help categorize it for the Marketplace and allow for more relevant search results for your fellow collectors. Eventually, upload photos and videos including the possible proof of authenticity and you're all set! Now it's up to you whether you want to just display your item or even put it up for sale.
All business transactions on the GA Marketplace are driven by the secure PayPal payment mechanism. To start selling, first, connect your PayPal account with your GA profile. Once you set a price for your item, others will be able to purchase it directly without a need for further interaction from your side. You will receive email updates from GotAuthentic regarding any transaction requests and progress. Overall, the GotAuthentic Marketplace will provide you with secure messaging and payment facilities to display your item, communicate with the buyer/seller, and complete the transaction incl. the payment.
Supporting the authenticity of your collection items by photo or video match proof is a great step to increasing the trustworthiness in the community. In addition, GotAuthentic offers the option to authenticate items using official third-party authenticity proofs such as certificates, holograms, etc., or by lifting them up by the official GotAuthentic Statement of Experts. Registration
You're just a user profile away from becoming a member of our community and getting full access to the Marketplace.
First, let's choose your user name and password. Make sure your password is at least eight characters long and is a combination of both lower and uppercase letters, numbers and special characters. Remember not to share your password with anyone!
We'll also need your name, email address, phone number, country of residence and your shipping address to enable your transactions. Please ensure full completeness of your data to avoid any issues at the delivery of your purchased items.
Should you need to change your personal details, you can do so any time in your GotAuthentic profile. Here you can also change your language preference and favorite sport.
We treat your personal data with the utmost care according to our Privacy policy.
When filling out your shipping address, we suggest you make full use of all fields available to provide the parcel delivery companies with the best possible guidance and avoid issues with your parcel delivery.

Certification
Select desired type of certification.
Select items from your collection you would like to get certified. You can add multiple items at once.
Please ensure all documents and media required to support your certification request are already uploaded in Images under each particular item (i.e. picture(s) of third party certificates, picture(s) of player with the item, photo-match or video-match proof etc.) before proceeding with the payment. Failing to do so may result in your certification request being rejected and the paid fee to be forfeited.
In case shipping will be required, a single shipping fee for the entire request will be added.
This certification request will be saved in the GA Billing History where you can follow its status.
Adding and managing items
Please accurately fill in the fields. This will increase the accuracy of the search and sale potential for your item.
Please include the player's name, team, season, and type of item in the Title. If you are unsure about any information, please just fill in as much detail as you can as it will increase the chances of selling your item(s).
Please use the Description field to add any additional information. A more detailed description of your item(s), the more likely you are to attract interest from other collectors. For example, many collectors are interested in the background story of items.
If you are uncertain what to choose with certain categories when classifying your item(s), simply select "Other". If you are uncertain about the exact season or year, just select the respective decade (i.e.,) 1980s. The item will then show up in the relevant search results when filtering by season.
When entering a team, first select the Country. This will narrow down the list of teams related to that country in the next field. It is up to you whether you prioritize the nationality of the player or the competition and the team in which they played. We recommend choosing the option according to the competition played – items from a league competition under, for example, the NHL, and items from the World Cup under national teams. For example, in the case of the ice hockey player David Pastrňák, you can select "Czech Republic / Czechoslovakia" and then “National Team”, however, you will not be able to choose an NHL team. Conversely select "USA" and select the relevant NHL team for your item. When searching for "Pastrňák" or “Pastrnak” in full text, such an item will always be found.
Game Worn: An item used by a player in a game. These items are the most sought after by collectors, ideally supported through a certificate or other proof of authenticity such as a photo or video match.
Game Issued: An item from a set prepared for a match or competition, but ultimately unused for any reason. The Game Issued (or Game Worn) section does not include items that are identical to the original, but were primarily produced, for example, for sale as a replica in a fanshop, etc.
Signed: Items with original autograph(s). Items with autograph reprints do not belong to this category.
How you photograph the item(s) is especially important. Two photos are mandatory, preferably the front and back of the item (see example). Other photos are optional, but we recommend adding as many photos of details as possible to accurately identify the item and differentiate it from others. Taking pictures of jerseys.
Photo Match Proof: Select if you have an action photo of the item. For example, a card or a photo of a player in the jersey. The "Photo Match" selection is extremely important as it will increase the interest in the item as it clearly identifies the item as being used by the player.
Video Match: Similar to "Photo Match" with the difference that the proof is a video instead of a photo. Insert a link to the YouTube, Vimeo, etc video and add a description or other information, i.e. footage time when the item appears in the video.
Note: Add personal notes for your eyes only.
Hide Owner: By checking this box, no one else can see who owns the item.
Save Draft: Allows you to save a work in progress before publishing. The draft can be modified at any time and published after completion.
Save and Publish: Save the item you just created and make it visible to the whole GA community.
Set price: Set the price at which you want to sell the item. The confirmed price is displayed during the search and in the details of the item. It also allows you to search for an item when filtering items for sale. The “For sale” status of an item can be canceled by clicking on the "Not for sale" button.
Not for sale: Default setting. You can also click this button to cancel an ongoing sale. The item remains visible, but is not available for sale.
Auction: Set the parameters of your auction, the duration, the starting price or “Buy it now” price and more.
Block: Notify others if someone stole your Item or if you lost it. You can unblock the item at any time.
Buy: Press the Buy button to start the purchasing process of your item. In the next step, you will conclude the transaction with the payment. Please make sure your shipping address is current before confirming your purchase.
Transactions
Please pay for the item via your PayPal account. Pressing the PayPal button will initiate the payment process. Successful completion of the payment will conclude your purchase. Both you and the seller will receive a confirmation message when the payment is successful.
Press the "Buyer received" button to confirm the physical delivery of the item to your address. The item will then be automatically transferred to your collection and you will be able to manage it. Attention: Do not press this button until you actually receive the shipment and check the contents! When you confirm receipt, you lose the right to claim a lost shipment! The withheld payment will be automatically released by Paypal in favor of the seller after 28 days.
Kindly contact the PayPal Customer Support directly if you're having problems paying with PayPal, need help with your PayPal account, or would like to enquire about a recent PayPal transaction. You can do so by visiting the PayPal website and selecting Contact on the bottom of any page.
Remember to complete your transaction! You can start managing your item, i.e. sell, edit, only after transferring it to your collection. If you do not confirm the item delivery, a mandated transfer will take place automatically after the 45-day period. This period can be shortened any time by manually confirming you received the shipment.
Once the buyer initiates the intent to purchase by clicking the Buy button and once the payment is concluded, in both cases we will send you an e-mail notification with the relevant information. After receiving the payment to your PayPal account, kindly ship the item to the buyer's address displayed in the GotAuthentic transaction details. We recommend using services that use the Track and Trace option, and suggest you consider using an additional shipment insurance (especially for items with a higher value). You can enter the shipment information in the transaction message so the buyer can track the package.
After sending the shipment, press the 'Seller sent' button and the buyer will receive a message that the package is on the way.
Once the buyer confirms the receipt of the item on her side, the money will be released in the PayPal system to the seller. Please note GotAuthentic may charge a small commission fee for arranging for the transaction as per the GotAuthentic price list. More information on PayPal fees can be found on the price list on the Paypal website.
Start: Your auction will start immediately when selecting Start button. You may also set your own start date and time of the auction, including the desired time zone. For the best outcome, we recommend you consider your auction to end around such a time when the majority of your potential buyers can see it.
Duration: Choose the duration in days from the predefined list of 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days. The shorter duration you set, the faster your chance to monetize your item. On the other hand, longer auctions allow you to reach more potential buyers and thus increase the chances for a higher selling price.
Starting price: select the starting price and currency. This may (or may not) be the price you are willing to sell the item for, or a price that will entice buyers. It's up to you. Other users can see the price in the currency you have selected and tentatively converted to their favorite currency as well.
Buy It Now price: Enter the price at which the bidder can buy the item immediately during the auction. In this case the auction is concluded and the bidder wins the item for prescribed Buy-it-now price. This option can be used anytime during the auction. Other users can see the price in the currency you have selected.
Shipping fee: Enter the desired price for shipping. Don’t forget to add prices for shipping to international destinations (your continent or outside your continent) or else if you leave those empty, any potential international buyers won’t be able to purchase your item. Use the Shipping - Note for any supplemental shipping information you’d like to share. Other users can see the price in the currency you have selected and tentatively converted to their favorite currency as well.
Shipping - Note: Add further detail to the shipping information, e.g. mean of shipping, type of packaging etc.
Auction End: An auction is considered complete once the set duration expires or at the moment any of the bidders selects the Buy It Now option. You may also cancel your auction at any time with the “Cancel Auction” button. However, cancelling auctions repeatedly may have an impact on your Seller’s rating.
Search filters
Do you search the Marketplace regularly? Create and save your search filters for those items you look for often. All saved search settings can be found under Filters in the navigation menu. Here you can run them manually as well as edit their settings.
Are you looking for items you definitely do not want to miss? We have a simple yet effective solution for you! Activate the GA Watchdog for any of your saved filters and we’ll monitor the Marketplace for you continuously for the next 12 month. Should a new item matching the search criteria be added onto the Marketplace we will immediately notify you via email. This way you will not miss any opportunity that may occur. The GA Watchdog is an indispensable service for every enthusiast and can be activated using Watchdog tokens. Upon expiry of the service after 12 months, if you have a sufficient Watchdog token balance, the service will automatically renew for additional 12 months.
With Watchdog tokens you can purchase the GA Watchdog service for your saved search filters. This will give you the luxury of a continuous awareness about items you’re seeking after without the need for you to check for those manually. Initial Watchdog tokens are included in the Premium GA Membership and additional tokens can be purchased using PayPal.
